SparkDog designs, builds, manages, maintains, or otherwise supports websites and online services for business clients.
In providing those services, SparkDog may have access to information belonging to a client or to visitors and customers of that client's website.
In those circumstances, SparkDog may be acting as a service provider, contractor, website administrator, or other business partner for the client rather than as the business deciding why the client's customer information is collected.
For example, SparkDog may have access to information necessary to:
- Build or configure forms
- Maintain a website
- Troubleshoot technical problems
- Manage website content
- Configure analytics
- Maintain integrations
- Assist with social media
- Manage local business listings
- Provide hosting or maintenance
- Implement privacy or accessibility tools
- Provide other services requested by the client
The client's own privacy policy generally governs information that the client collects directly through its website or business operations.
SparkDog does not control how a client independently collects, uses, stores, or discloses information from its own customers.
If you interact with a website operated by a SparkDog client, your questions regarding that client's collection and use of your information should generally be directed to the client.
SparkDog Creative operates Gainesville Locally Owned (GLO), an independent local-business directory serving Gainesville and Alachua County.
GLO is a separate service with its own business-directory functions, listings, forms, and information practices.
Information submitted specifically to GLO may be governed by the GLO Privacy Policy rather than this SparkDog Privacy Policy.
SparkDog may identify itself as the operator of GLO where appropriate, but information collected through GLO should not automatically be assumed to be information collected through SparkDog's primary website.
SparkDog may use artificial intelligence and AI-assisted tools as part of its business operations.
Possible uses may include:
- Brainstorming
- Writing assistance
- Editing
- Research assistance
- Design concepts
- Illustration or image generation
- Business analysis
- Accessibility or usability assistance
- Customer-service assistance
- Internal organization
- Other creative or administrative functions
SparkDog may use AI-assisted tools to help create content, concepts, graphics, or other materials.
SparkDog does not intentionally use AI tools as a substitute for reasonable human review where human review is appropriate.
SparkDog also does not intend to use customer information for unrelated AI training or development merely because the information has been provided to SparkDog.
When third-party AI services are used, information may be processed by those services according to their respective terms and privacy practices.
SparkDog will make reasonable efforts to avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive personal information to AI services.
Clients may request clarification regarding the use of AI-assisted tools in connection with a particular project.
SparkDog does not currently maintain a single fixed retention period for all information.
Different information may be retained for different periods depending on its purpose.
For example, SparkDog may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Respond to an inquiry
- Complete a project
- Maintain a client relationship
- Provide ongoing support
- Maintain accounting or tax records
- Document business transactions
- Resolve disputes
- Protect against fraud or unauthorized activity

Because SparkDog is a small business and does not currently operate an automated deletion schedule for every category of information, some business communications and records may remain in email, project, accounting, or other systems until they are no longer reasonably useful or necessary.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, SparkDog may delete, destroy, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it when practical.
SparkDog uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, or destruction.
However, no website, electronic transmission, computer system, cloud service, or method of storing information can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Accordingly, while SparkDog takes privacy and security seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you believe you have discovered a security issue involving SparkDog, please contact us promptly.
Depending on the information involved and applicable law, you may contact SparkDog to:

- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete information when deletion is appropriate
- Ask questions about how information is used
- Withdraw from optional marketing communications
- Ask about information shared with service providers

Some information may need to be retained for legitimate business, accounting, tax, legal, security, or other purposes.
Requests may need to be verified before we provide, correct, or delete information.
To make a privacy-related request, contact: reneecarson@sparkdog.biz
Please describe your request clearly enough for us to understand what information or activity you are asking about.
Certain U.S. states provide residents with specific privacy rights.
Depending on where you live and whether a particular law applies to SparkDog, those rights may include rights concerning:
- Access to personal information
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of personal information
- Information about how personal information is collected or used
- Certain choices concerning the sharing or sale of personal information
- Nondiscrimination for exercising applicable privacy rights
SparkDog does not sell personal information.
Because state privacy laws differ in their definitions, thresholds, exemptions, and requirements, not every privacy right applies to every visitor or every business.
If you believe a state privacy law gives you a specific right regarding your information, you may contact SparkDog using the information in this policy.
We will evaluate requests according to applicable law.
SparkDog serves customers throughout the United States, including potentially customers located in California.
California residents may have additional privacy rights under California law, depending on whether the applicable law applies to SparkDog and the particular circumstances.
Those rights may include rights concerning access, correction, deletion, and certain disclosures regarding personal information.
SparkDog does not sell personal information and does not intentionally operate its website as a marketplace for the sale of visitors' personal information.
California residents may submit privacy requests by contacting: reneecarson@sparkdog.biz
We may request information reasonably necessary to verify a request before fulfilling it.
SparkDog's primary services are intended for businesses, organizations, adults, and general audiences rather than for children.
SparkDog does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13 through its ordinary business operations.
If SparkDog becomes aware that it has unintentionally collected personal information from a child under 13 in circumstances where applicable law requires parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to address the situation.
SparkDog may eventually offer products or creative materials that are suitable for children or families. The existence of a child-oriented product does not by itself mean that SparkDog's general business website is directed toward children.
If a future service is specifically directed to children or involves knowingly collecting children's personal information, SparkDog may provide additional privacy notices and safeguards appropriate to that service.
SparkDog's website may contain links to websites, services, social-media profiles, directories, payment services, or other resources operated by third parties.
Examples may include Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Yelp, payment providers, and other business or service platforms.
Once you leave SparkDog's website or interact directly with an independent third-party service, that third party's privacy policy and terms apply.
SparkDog is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of websites or services that SparkDog does not control.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services before providing them with personal information.
SparkDog may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law
- Respond to lawful requests from government authorities
- Protect SparkDog's rights or property
- Protect the safety of SparkDog, clients, visitors, or others
- Investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity
- Enforce agreements
- Resolve disputes
- Protect the operation and security of our systems
If SparkDog undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar event, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
SparkDog may update this Privacy Policy as its website, services, technology, business practices, or applicable legal requirements change.
When changes are made, the Last Updated date at the top of this policy will be revised.
Material changes may also be highlighted on the website when appropriate.
Because SparkDog's services evolve over time, we encourage visitors and clients to review this policy periodically.
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or SparkDog's information practices, please contact us.
